Anchor Town History

In 1997, Anchor Town Sports was formed as an alternative choice for softball teams and players in Anchorage. The people behind this decision included players and coaches concerned with rising team and player costs, as well as a desire to have their opinions heard.

Many concerned individuals contributed, including Jean Portlock, Susan Gardner, Judy Hillborn, Neal Hagland, Gil Carillo, Brie Rhodes, Bob Thwing and Carl Sherman. These people instituted a hard working attitude which is still present today.

Today, Anchor Town runs many successful leagues around town, including softball, pool and volleyball.
